Register:
a) To create an account at Lankatree, click on the Register menu at the top right corner of our homepage.
b) A sign-up page will be displayed.
c) Enter all the personal information and then submit the sign-up form.
d) Tick the box to accept Terms and Condition. (Please read the Terms and Condition before accept)
e) Click Register, once you have finished entering the details.
f) Once registration is successful, a confirmation email will be sent to your email id. To activate your account you will have to open the link given in the mail.
Now you can log in with your username which you received in the mail to explore Lankatree.
Note: If you haven’t received any confirmation mail then check your spam and junk folders. In case you didn’t receive any mail, you can contact us and our team will respond to your query.
Login
a) Click the Login icon on the top right corner of our homepage.
b) Enter your username and password and click Login.
c) If required you need to type the CAPTCHA and get it verified.
Logout
a) Click on the user profile menu at the top
b) Click Logout and then you will be logged out successfully.
Before posting an ad in Lankatree, make sure that you have signed up for an account in Lankatree. If not, click on the Login/Register icon on the top corner of our homepage and create a Lankatree account.
To post an ad:
To post a featured ad, click the Make it featured icon.
Note: A mail will be sent to your registered mail id to notify you about the ad status as it could take a considerable time for the ad to be reflected on the website.
Upload precise and good quality images of the selling product as it is the first thing every buyer will see. Add pictures with bright colour and uncluttered background. Take a clear view of the photos so that buyer can view 360-degree picture

In case you need to delete a particular image, click on the link with the text “remove the photo” at the bottom of the image and your image will be deleted.
After making the changes click Next and your editing will be saved.
Posting an ad is simple and quick. But creating an engaging ad that will grab the attention of the buyer is difficult and these are achieved by keeping in mind the following instructions,
Hence the seller needs to research and analyse by comparing their ads with other similar ads posted on other sites and then do their pricing.
The duration for property ads, services, motors and jobs will be active for 60days and the duration of the ad for pets, community and ads for sale will be live for 30 days.
Once the duration of your ads run out of time we will send a notification to your mail-id denoting that your ad is about to expire. You can boost this ad by resetting the lifespan of the ads, otherwise, your ad will be moved automatically to the inactive ads list.
Inactive Ads:
Once your ads get expired or deleted, it moves automatically to the inactive ads section. These ads are not visible to the members but are kept for your future reference. Inactive ads cannot be removed or deleted from your ad list.
Steps for reposting an ad:
After your ad gets expired you can again repost the ad by promoting the ad. This allows the ad to be posted as a new ad without any hassle. These ads also will be available in the queues for the same time duration (30 days or 60 days) mentioned above.
If you don’t want your ad to be bumped up you can still repost your ad but it must be done manually.
In case your ad is sold or you need to delete the posted ad, here are the simple steps,
a) Click on your Profile icon which is at the top of the page once you have logged in.
b) You will be directed to a user dashboard.
c) Click on the My ad menu where several drop-down lists will appear.
d) Search the ad you want to remove from the list.
e) Click the Delete option and select the reason for deleting the ad.
Once your ad is deleted it will be removed from the queue and you can view that in the inactive ads section which is only visible to you. You cannot delete or remove the ads in the inactive ads section.
Just in case you delete an ad by mistake, follow the instructions given below:
Editing the ad is the same as posting the ad. Instructions to edit an ad is as follows:
a) Once you have logged in to your account click on the Profile.
b) You will be directed to a user dashboard with many menu listings.
c) Click on the My Ads menu and there will be a drop-down listing.
d) Select the ads which need to be edited.
e) Click Edit.
f) If you need to delete the photos you can click on the delete link at the bottom of each image.
e) In case of rearranging the photos you need to delete and upload them again.
f) After editing click Update My Ad after you have verified the information.
What cannot be edited?
There are certain divisions in ads that cannot be edited once the ads get posted.
1.Category:
This kind of information cannot be edited, as we need to request a change in each category. So double-check your category before posting your ad otherwise you need to delete the ad and repost it again.
2. Private Vs Business:
if you have updated the information as a business instead of private or vice-versa you need to delete and repost the ad again.
3. Location:
While posting an ad give your location details correctly, once your ad gets locked in that location you cannot edit the location later.
4. Email:
If you need to edit the mail which is linked to your ad then you need to edit the mail which is linked to your Lanka tree account, otherwise, you need to repost the ad again
Unable to edit pricing and other issues
While entering special characters such as numbers, pricing and location, double-check your information. Ensure that you don’t enter some special characters such as emojis and symbols. Enter only the numbers not letters while submitting your pricing details.

Posting an ad, sending messages, selling your product and a lot more can be done in Lankatree for free.
You need to pay for featuring your ads on our homepage. Featuring ads can increase the chances of selling your products. It also makes your ad to be listed on top and it reaches more audience. You can also make your ads featured at a later point in time. i.e. after posting your ad you can promote it as featured based on its reach.

To Promote an existing ad:

c) Click on the “My Ads” menu and scroll down the menu to select “My Ad”.
d) Choose the ad you want to promote.
e) Select the method of promotion from the package.
f) To bump your ad, choose the ad and click the bump-up option.
g) To feature your ad, click the “Make it feature icon”.
To promote a new ad:
a) Once you have signed in, click “Post an ad” at the top of our homepage.
b) Fill in all the required details.
c) Once completed, click the “Make it Feature” option at the bottom.
d) Preview all the details and click Submit.
e) Once your ad gets expired, you can repost the same ad through the bump up option available in the subscription plan.
Payment Option for Subscription package:
a) At Lankatree, subscription plans are available, some of them are individual plans, business plans and premium plans
b) You can choose the package which suits you.
c) After selecting your plan, it gets added to your cart automatically.
d) Click Proceed and complete your purchase.

Our featured ads package allows your ad to be at the top of the search results. Featured ads have more engagement and views compared to simple ads. At Lankatree top 5 rankings on every page are reserved for the featured ads.
Featured ads usually run for 15 days, and it gets featured on the regular listing page and in the featured ads section, which has more visibility than other ads. Featured ads are randomly selected and we ensure that every ad gets equal exposure.
Expired or old ads are bumped-up to get more attention. This feature is a one-time refreshment and, it makes the ads to appear as a new ad. Once boosted the ads remains at the top until a new ad appears.
In case, your posted ad appears on the last page of the search result you can boost your ad and make it appear on top, thus gaining more exposure. As new ads get posted, your bumped up ads will slowly go down the placement. But you can make your bumped up ad to last longer through searches(keyword or categories).

Follow the instructions given below:
a) Click Login at the top of our homepage
b) From the login page, click Forgot Password at the bottom.
c) A popup appears, enter your mail id and click Reset my account.
d) A link is sent to the given email id.
e) Click on the given link, it redirects you to a website.
f) Type your password in both the required fields and click Change Password. Password should be at least 6 characters long, must include an uppercase alphabet, special characters or a number.
Kindly Note: Check the spam/junk folders of your mail if you haven’t received the password reset mail.
At Lankatree, the login email and registered email will be the same. There is no way to change your registered email address. In case the registered email id is obsolete, you need to create a new account. You may have options to change your contact email, but all the notifications will still be received in the registered email id.
Steps to change the contact email in Lankatree:
Please Note: Check the spam/junk folders of your mail if you haven’t received the confirmation mail. Once you have confirmed the mail, changes will be updated, if not, try refreshing the page.
Deactivating your account can be done only on the Lankatree website.
Steps to delete your Lankatree Account:
Once you submit Delete My Account, your Lanka tree account will become deactivated, and we will notify you through the mail. You can again activate your account by registering on the Lankatree website.
Once posting your ad, it will take time to get reflected on our website. If your ad is not visible for more than 3 hours, check the “active or inactive ads” menu.
Steps to check whether your ad is active:
a) Login to your Lankatree account and click the User profile.
b) In the User profile dashboard, click My Ads.
c) Scroll down the My Ads section and click Active Ads.
d) If you don’t find your ads in the active ads section, check Inactive ads.
Active Ads:
If your ad is active and the search results do not display your ad, then include your location and the product’s category in the search bar. Ensure that the keyword used in your ad should be the same as the ad’s title and should be spelt correctly. Validate these details before posting your ad.
Inactive Ads:
i) Deleted ad: If the user has deleted the ad accidentally, it can be reposted once again from this section.
ii) Expired Ads: Ads that have finished their full run time will be placed here.
iii) Removed ads: If the product does not comply with our policy, then your ads are removed from our side. It will be placed in this section.
iv) Edited Ads: Some ads will be placed in editing mode by our team. You will receive a mail notifying you about the changes that need to be done.
v) Processing: After posting your ad, it takes time to be posted on our website. While it is under the processing stage it will be placed here. You will receive a mail once your ad gets posted.
If you have trouble uploading your image, below could be some of the below reasons
a) Size: The image that you upload should be under 8 MB. If it exceeds the size, reduce the size and try uploading it again.
b) Format: Check the image format while uploading the image. Lankatree accepts only PNG and JPEG format.
Order of Photos:
If you want to reorder the images, then remove the ad and try uploading the image in the order of your choice.
When the lifespan of the ad gets expired, the ad gets deleted automatically.
Below are some of the reasons.
On Hold:
If your ad is on hold, then improvement needs to be done in your ad. Check your email address for information.
Deleted:
These ads are deleted accidentally/intentionally from the user’s end. Deleted ads can be posted again by clicking repost.
Removed:
If your product does not comply with our policies, your ad gets removed from our site. A message is sent to your registered email address with details of violation rules. You can post ads that abide by our company policy. In case you have violated our policies, then you will not be allowed to post ads.
When someone messaged you on Lankatree, you will get two copies of the messages. The first is the mail sent to the primary mail address, and the second will be the message section in the Lankatree account.
I am not able to receive messages in the Message Section:
Any message linked to the primary account will get automatically reflected in the message section. If you do not receive any text messages in the message section, then the reason will be, that message is from business or from the job poster that appears only in the mail-id.
If you didn’t receive any messages from the regular user in the message section, check the account your using. Double-check your primary email address connected to your account. Log out and then login with the correct registered account to get messages in the message section.
I am not able to receive messages in the Mail id:
In case you are not able to receive messages in the mail, check whether the primary mail address and the mail you are checking is the same.
You can check your primary email address in the User profile.
When you message a buyer or a seller, it will be available in the message section. Following issues could be the reasons,
If your Message is Blocked:
The message contains a violation, profanity or if it is spam, your message will be locked by our system. To avoid this, try sending a reply which complies with our rules.
If the message was not sent:
If there is an error while sending a message ensure the message was not removed for the above-mentioned reason. The Error can also be due to the browser cookies or outdated browser issues.
You have changed your email recently:
If you changed your mail recently while posting an ad, you may have issues while sending new messages. There will be trouble responding to your buyers if you posted the ad before the email change.
If you send messages and you change the email address before the conversation has ended, then you cant send any messages to the older conversation. The solution is to start a new conversation with the buyer or the seller as per the need.
After posting an ad, that ad gets locked to your email address. If you change your primary email address once your ad is published, then you will not be able to send messages from that mail id about the ad. You can still receive the messages in your mail but you cant reply to these messages. To fix this problem you need to delete the ad and repost it once again.
Following are the reasons for the error during a payment:
a) Pay only through Maestro, MasterCard, Visa or PayPal
b) Enter the credit card number and CVV number correctly.
c) Make sure you are using the credit card authorized by the bank.
d) Ensure the credit card billing address is correct.
e) Check your credit card limit and the expiry date of the card.
f) You are not using a prepaid credit card.
Please Note: If the above reasons are correct, try the transaction once again and check if the issues continue. If yes, try contacting your company or make payments through PayPal.
If you are facing problems while clicking a button or entering any information, follow the below steps:
a) Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies and restart the browser.
b) Disable any adblockers and then start the browser again.
c) Try using another browser or a device.

Your bumped-up ad gets reflected on our website after you pay for your expired ad. Bumped ads are a one-time renewal of the ads rank. These ads may get a lower placement based on the arrival of new ads. Particularly, in busier locations or categories, your bumped-up ads will be pushed down the search results page. Your bumped-up ad will be pushed from the front page but still ranks on top of the search results page. It will stay on higher rankings for longer.
How to check quickly:
To check whether your ad is bumped-up or not, look at the date of your posted ad. If it shows the date you applied the bump instead of the posted date, then your ad is bumped up.
If I can’t see it on the first page, How will everyone know:
Users don’t search on the categories of an item. Many users will search for an item using keywords, categories, subcategories and location. By this method, your ad has chances of displaying on the top of the search results.
Once your ad is live, any features that are purchased will be reflected immediately. If you don’t see your ad featured, the following are the reasons:
a) Search results of each page will show only a maximum of 5 ads at a time. In some cases, if there are more than 5 featured ads on a search page, the order will be selected randomly. The Next 5 set of featured ads will be shown on the second pages and so on. The featured ads listings will go on until all the ads are featured.
b) Whenever a new user logs in or page refresh happens, new ads are featured every time to make sure that every featured ad gets equal opportunities.
c) Once you created a featured promotion in the ad, you will see an updated version of your ad in the featured search results. You can also see the original version of the ad in the search result queue. If there is no featured banner on your ad, you are looking at the free version of your ad.
How to check quickly:
The wider the searches you enter, the more featured ads will be ranked more. To find your featured ad in the search result queue, try searching for your subcategories and suburban location. If you can see your ad, then others can see your ads in wider searches. When it comes to a busier category such as motors or electronic gadgets, you need to add a keyword to that product to be featured.
If I can’t see my featured ad on the first page, How will everyone see?
As said earlier, featured ads are placed randomly for every search. If you cant find your featured ad at the top, it gets displayed on the second page of the search result.
At Lankatree, payments are not refundable for the fees paid through the use of our sites, services, applications and tools in the following cases:
a) In case you violate our terms of use, posting rules.
b) If your ads are placed in the pet or massage section.
c) If your ads were placed in the editing mode and after updating, it was published.
d) If ads are removed by the user.
e) If you post duplicate ads.
f) If your ad is in the wrong category.
g) If your ads went live on our Lankatree website, even for a limited amount of time.
Fixing browser issues:
Some common problems caused by the browsers are:
i) Buttons are not working
ii) Some parts on the page are missing or displaying differently
iii) The information you entered is not getting saved.
